This old banded agate chung dzi was recovered from an archeological dig in north India. It is a beautiful stone, with a variety of reds, whites and a light grey band in the middle. It is nicely drilled with a large, slightly off-center hole down the middle. Opaque near the sides while translucent in the center, making it quite unusual. The bead has a soft, almost creamy texture, making it a pleasure to wear. We have a number of beads from this dig, and all are lovely.
The hole is approximately 2mm in diameter, making it easy to string on even a large cord. No chips or cracks.
